As BillyBobJoe said, if you reset all of the variables and do the math after every fill up, it's within a few tenths. I'm getting 20-22 with a manual, no mods and mixed driving.
18.5 with half town and half highway driving. Seems to be pretty accurate too. Those who average 11 or 12 need to keep the right foot under control if they want better mileage. If not, b*lls to the wall and pay the pump.

Even with the computer, I still calculate my mpg at every fill-up (it's a 32+ year old habit, i guess). I typically drive my Stang about 90% highway and the computer says I'm getting ~24. My calcs say 22-23. I trust my calcs over the Stang's computer.
