Yeah... definately got some more thinking to do. Honestly, the swaybar delete hadn't crossed my mind at all, though I am hesitant to get one. This car is daily driven. Driveability and handling are issues I need to tihnk about, so in the long run, that may just be wasted cash. I am trying to work a deal for some LCA's, but the Veterens Affairs people keep screwing me around on the money they owe me, and thats my "Car play fund"...

Slicks (or D/R's)were definately part of the plan, and down sizing them for the the effective gearing change is a damn good thought, though again, I may be limited by whats available used due to price constraints. Maybe I can "buy" a set from someone and then after the race decide I don't like them and sell them back... Anyone know of a good tire size/effective gear ratio calculator?

Just double checked Joe Heck, and the only deletes they list are the Steeda's ($139.00). No more FRPP available. Ford doesn't even have any anymore. Had my sis-in-law have her parts manager to a nationwide check, and there are none in any warehouse in the US according to him.

As for how determined I am to win this... determined enough to remove anything that can be removed without a saw-zaw and put back in later and stll be able to drive to and from the track, and taking more crap off at the track isn't out of the question either.I'm thinking the spare tire and related gear, seats, most of the interior, headlamp (for the cold air feed into the intake) and the hood should be a good 150 or so pounds. That being said, it's my brother, so if I loose, it's not the end of the world. He just gets to have a very clean truck next season... though the gloating will be next to unbearable... [&:]

Interestingly enough... I found an ET calculator the other day and in playing with it, a car that weighs in at 3750 pounds, with 339 Flywheel HP it estimated to be able to pull a 12.96 @ 104.. and with you guys adding that about Brent....more and more, I am thinking that maybe just addressing the traction issues, the C&L and tune as power adders and putting Vera on a diet to loose a100 or 200or so poundswill get me into the 12's. Certainly worth the try...

A good set of rear gears and a big diet may do the trick. Take the spare out of the trunk, take the rear seat out, replace the factory rear gears with 4.10 or better. You will probably need to borrow a set of sticky tires too so you can hook and get your 60 foot time down.

Just taking the weight out will do wonders and is temporary. The gears will help you get off way better and that`s a big deal in a heavy car.
