Intake = Alternator going bad?
Just as the title says: Could my intake cause my alternator to go bad? Just curious...I have my stang on the way to the dealership as we speak. The error codes were P0340 and P0344. Thanks.

RE: Intake = Alternator going bad?
Check the belt tension in relation to the fuel-to-air ratio.
It should be a 25Lb to 66.5 ratio. If not it can cause
your alternator to go bad. This is caused by a bad
belt tensioner caused by the CAI sucking all the cold
air from under the hood and the spring in the tensioner
goes bad causing the belt to slip and the increased load
on the electrical system taxes the alternator and causes
it to overheat (the CAI sucking again) and go bad.
Totally related.......
And I have property in south florida if u are interested

I have yet to hear or read about udp's killing the alternator although I suppose it's possible.

RE: Intake = Alternator going bad?
Sorry about the double post...my computers connection messes up sometimes.
Hopefully Ford will cover the problem under warranty...but I really want to reinstall the intake and tune without causing this problem again.
So DB, how can I check that ratio? Will the SCT be able to look at that? I have no aftermarket UDPs...It would totally suck not to be able to use that kickass intake any longer! On another note, is that property commercially zoned?
