you may get your wish been 3 weeks with mine and still don't care for the shifting action. It is not a good shifter for the track.
eh, might be off the track for a good while...at least till winter, maybe indefinitely....got a little gunshy after destroying a major driveline component lol...

If you don't race and just want good looks the hurst is the way to go, I love the way it looks, it just doesn't have good action for the track.

I had some trouble getting the hurst into the car at first but then i put the shifter in upside down and rolled it rightside up once it was under the car. I found that was much easier to do. Once i figured that out it was all simple.

I suggest a pair of mechanic gloves or letting the car sit on jacks for awhile to cool down. The tranny gets real warm real quick. I managed to put a dime size blister on the back of my hand when I installed mine. Good luck and enjoy your new shifter.

Okay everyone the shifter is in and thanks for the feedback. It was pretty straightforward, although I wish the instructions had specified which "lubricant" to use for the bushings (ended up going w/ brake caliper grease since it's high-temp and won't hurt rubber) and they should recommend blue loctite for the handle; I took a five-mile test drive and it started wobbling on me, had toloctite it and really CRANK the **** out of it by using a combo wrench on top of the allen key for more leverage (you can only generate so much torque out of a little allen key and there's no room for a allen-key style socket and a 3/8 rachet)...

...anyway, thanks again guys![sm=closed.gif]
