Default Rev limiter + tune?

Ok so i just installed my JLT cai and SCT 91 tune from evo performance. My question is, in the tune did they set the rev limiter to a different rpm? If so id like to set it back to stock, im not all into blowin up my engine and all that goodness. Whats everyones opinion on that, if it is changed is it really ok to leave? Im going to be paying on this car for a long time and need it to last me through college.

mine is set at 6500, which is almost no different. The ohc engine should be able to handle turning few extra revs without it hurting anything, especially NA. You dont seem to be the person that rides around at redline everywhere you go either. Some people have theirs set at 7200, that is a little high but they probably shift before redline because the car does not make much more power, if any, at 6700-7200 than it does at 6250. Soem people dont like their shifting habits to be controlled by a comp. If they were street racing and over-reved with a limited, they would lose; but if they over-reved to 7000 with no revlimiter they would stay in the race just fine. Different people like different things, but 6500-6750 should not hurt your car.

most people, including me, put the rev limitor in place for when you race. There is always a possibility of missing 3rd gear especially if you have a stock shifter. When you race you want to shift right at the redline 6000-6100, most people, like me to keep revs up don't completely take the foot off the accelerator when racing. Now if you do this and miss 3rd, and have no rev limitor set,BOOM you just through a rod. I personally like the safety net of a 6300 rev lim in place. I have seen many many modular motors at my local speedway on a friday night go boom. It is almost always a thrown rod do to over revving.

IMO 6400-6600 is a good spot for an N/A motor. As already pointed out - you are not carrying power past that anyway without some upgrades anyway so any more is not needed.

To answer your question though...when you select the tune to upload,
you can upload with options. There's quite a few options you can change.
Brenspeed has a video on how to do it.
And yes, Rev limiter is one of 'em.

Yes.
Yes,adjust any desired parameters, and then reload the tune.
