You're not going to be in the low 12's with those trap speeds. Are you sure you have 473rwhp? Maybe you are 10,000 feet above sea level. You can run a 13.5 with 473rwhp, but you should still be trapping almost 120! Maybe your clutch was slipping the whole way.

ORIGINAL: 07SCGT

1st run 13.52 104.32 traction issues
2nd run 13.12 105.47 traction issues/clutch
3rd run 14.42 88.32MPH and a burnt overheated clutch hence the 88mph trap speed. 3rd would NOT engage, and no I did not miss it.

I should be in the mid to low 12's. My next prchase this week is M/T slicks and a spec2 stage 3 clutch so I can grab the gears without just revving.

I ran 13.3 w/ every thing shown in my sig. With a decent set of drag tires I should be in mid 12's, YOU should be in low 11's w/ 473 rwhp.

Regardless of what he should be running, he should be trapping much higher even with street tires. I saw a turbo charged s197 running 13's, but trapping 118!

5,000 feet or not, it doesn't change the fact that you can't run low 12's only trapping 105.

My problem is definately my clutch and tires. Every shift I made it was grinding then revving then engaging. Other people came over to look at my setup and were absolutely amazed that I was not running in the mid to low 12's. I have to admit I could'nt get my Nittos to hook up at all on Friday. I was burning through 1st and 2nd gears. All of my races I lost out of the pocket and gained on the guy in the other lane. I only raced 3 times since the 3rd pass I was making everyone nauscious around me from the burnt clutch smell. Thats my point with a stock clutch I wasn't expecting 12's. That's why I put up another post asking what people are using for fly wheels and clutches at the track. I have it narrowed to a spec2 stage 3 clutch that I am ordering tomorrow morning. Also to my defense it was my first time at the track, and I ws over revving it I found out. 1st run was 2000K and I was going sideways a little when second finally engaged (harsh grinding was coming from under my center console it was like nails on a chalk board. I am also buying M/T slicks this week. I will be in the low 12's within a week or 2 and will post my E/T on this forum.

As far as the 473RWHP is concerned, I live inPhoenix Altitude is 1200Ft.I pulled it on a Dynojet back in February the outside temp was 62. Friday night was 105 outside, prob 110-115 on the track. My intercooler never got below 175 the entire night, it was that hot. Also I was only racing on my 91 Octane street tune (that's all you can get here in Phoenix, AZ). To my defense there was a C6 Z06 with a CAI and tune and he was running consistant 12.7-12.9's the entire night.

What was he trapping though? I'm betting 115 easy. It does sound like your clutch is shot. With a new clutch even if you spin the tires in 1st, 2nd and 3rd you should still trap much better.
