Default Problem with SCT Xcal2 tuner

Salut!

I have a problem with my SCT Xcal2 tuner - I installed my C&L CAI last night, and made ready to flash the car with the Xcal. After loading any of the Brenspeed tunes (87, 91, and 93), the car (an '07 GT w/ 5spd manual) will not start. The wrench icon appeared after the flash, so I figured I'd check for error codes with my snazzy new SCT Xcal2 tuner. None are found. Upon flashing back to the stock tune, the car started right up, albeit it ran like any car would with a brand new CAI and no tune for compensation - extremely rich. Now, as much as I love the sound of backfiring, my car is not a rally car, so I'd like to get things in order.

Any thoughts before I have words with Brenspeed?

No need to do that when using tunes from the tuners such as brenspeed or b.ama. The tune they load are specific to the mods you list when ordering. Call and talk to Brent.

Quick question: is it necessary to turn the car completely off after uploading a tune before attempting to start the engine?

the tuner should prompt you what to do. but i dont think it would hurt to turn it off before starting, i dont know if its necesary. but talk to Brent, that would be the best option.

same thing happened to me, the problem was that Ford had re-flashed my ECM and so the code I gave to SCT (FCJ2) from the sticker on the ecm was no longer valid. My tuner worked this out, he sent the personality code to SCT and they sent him the correct file for my new ecm code (FVT1 or something) - it worked fine after that. When he ran the tune first time it didn't includethe CAI and was throwing lots of black smoke, he had to re-install the K&N version.

I believe it goes like this: Program completes downloadandXCAL instructs you to press select, then it tell you to turn the key off and press select again. After that is when I unplug my sct.
