Sounds like it might be drone from the exhaust? Corsas are not suppose to have drone but maybe with the x-pipe?

I hope you get it all figured out and enjoy your new mustang.

To the OP:

I read the solution found post too, and didn't think it was the same problem for me either.

For me, it's more a harmonics/resonance I think. Like, my shifter buzzes, etc. If I grab my Ebrake handle when it's doing it, it's more muffled...

Okay, I played around a bit on the way home from work and discovered that this noise/vibration is NOT tied to RPM as I thought, but rather to speed. Everything is fairly smooth up to about 60-65, no matter what gear, but above that under load is when I get the vibration. It still feels like a resonance, but it may be something out of balance. It feels like it's coming from the forward section of the car, perhaps transmission. I get no vibration if I put the clutch in and coast and it is definitely only casually noticable (as opposed to really listending for it) under accel. I don't know if it existed before the mods I referenced above, but if it did, it is definitely more pronounced now. Of course, it may well be perfectly normal, which is why I asked. I'm having new rims and tires put on next week, so I'll likely let the service guy take it for a test drive and see what he thinks.
As for the ticking and the vibration, i'd wait until the first service interval...about 3k miles until most things are broken in. I've noticed that rattles and vibrations and roughness in shifting have decreased significantly in the last 1000 miles i'm at about 1500 now, and I figure most of that was break in. Not that you don't have a real problem, but it may be worthwhile to wait a bit to see if it's break-in related...just my opinion.

Thanks guys! After some more wheel time, I'm not really convinced it is a problem, so much as just normal engine noise/vibration (as howarmat suggested). Sometimes it's not there, sometimes it is. I've decided just to leave it alone for now and maybe mention it to the dealer next time I'm in (as laserred suggested). Thanks again for the input.

I've got very similar noises in my 08, 330 miles no mods. It has the ticking sound at idle and low rpms and sometimes in3rd or 4th gearat2-3 rpms you can feel and hear a slight vibration or resonance in the shifter. As someone suggested I'm going to give it awhile if it doen't get better after a few thousand miles I'll bring it in.

That is EXACTLY what I am experiencing. Given that we both have it, I think that confirms it's normal (or we both have exactly the same defect).
