very random but good trick
haha
You know how you should match revs when shifting between gears with a manual to prevent shift shock?
I was driving home today, and accelerating very slowly, kept my foot on the throttle where It was when I was in gear, depressed the clutch, the rpm stay nearly the same, then change gears.
Sounds obvious but It felt so much like a cvt that it's not even funny.
Plus its a good way to conserve gas
Just thought I'd share!

kinda hard on the clutch and throwout bearing dontcha think?
my favorite is when people downshift all the time to "save their brakes" by putting additional straim on their driveline.

At what rpms do you guys usually change gears? I change at 2500 rpms. But everytime I change gears my car like clunks. It is never a smooth shift. Always jerks my head back too or my wifes head when she rides with me. Sometimes when I shift I put in the clutch then give it some gas and then slowly release the clutch like 3-5 seconds and it still is rough and not smooth. Am I doing it wrong or is it just the way the mustangs are.

1+ I agree...it is cheaper to replace brake pads than a drivetrain.I only use down shifting when absolutely necessary when engine braking helps to slow the car faster than the brakes alone. JMO and that was the way i was taught to drive a stick whenI was 13 yrs old..
Luckydawg003 I think that is a direct result of the 2- piece driveshaft. All apart of NVH of the stock drivetrain.
lldsandsll - it will shorten the life of the drivetrain if done all the time and with agressive driving. I think "normal" driving conditions would have less strain....JMO

A little low to be shifting, that's why your tranny is clunking.
