Supercharger question.

RE: Supercharger question.
LOL, I just got a Saleen installed. It's fun
Don't know much about HO Whipple costs, as I wanted the warrantee of the Saleen. People love the Whipple though. I don't think you can go wrong either way. They are both twin screws, and you'll love the 'punch to the gut' in the lower gears.
Either way, rip a hole in the pavement for me!

Now having said that, I am at the point of where I can't have enough power and I am looking into FI's andswappingheads and Cams. I will more than likely go with a KB 2.6 when I do all of this forMORE boost....buahhahahaha...I apparently caught the bug

400 RWHP on 4 PSI? Saleen advertises 435 hp on 5 psi at the CRANK

RE: Supercharger question.
You are correct as to the hp being at the crank on all the Saleen kits. Your Whipple HO kit has a lot more HP. But most of us went Saleen because of warranty issues (I only have 3,000 miles on my car, and would like to have some peace of mind ).
But sounding like a rock polisher at idle? Mine is silent, and you don't hear it until you are generating load on the engine -- at which point it sounds like a jet turbine.
Some people are having issues where the supercharger is rubbing against their hood liner or firewall. Maybe that was happening?

Hee, hee. Advertise is the key word there. The basic saleen kit is 400 crank HP.
I thought the saleen sounded like a rock polisher at idle

RE: Supercharger question.
Just poking a little fun at the whipple guys! Whipple makes a great SC, and personally I love the polished one and it looks like a tradition blower, but the Saleen is more efficent that's how the Saleen guys on this forum can make 425+rwhp at 6.5psi. But don't worry about what I say or anyone else get what makes YOU happy. No matter what you go with trust me it will be fun! Nothing like laying down a 60ft patch of rubber in 2nd gear!
