RE: Gear Install HELP PLEASE
I would do them myself.
Dont pay for something you can do by yourself.
Try it and tell us how it works.
Besides, I love gear whine, makes me feel like I'm driving a saleen in the rolex series!

RE: Gear Install HELP PLEASE
Mechanically, many could probably manage the swap, but I think it takes a few times to get the "touch" or "knack" for it, experience helps. And if you need a spare there is always newtakeoff.com! I posted some pictures at www.mustangforums.com/m_3870374/tm.htm if you're interested. Good luck.

Jay, go to Mustang Magic, Deer Park L.I....Gear install $180. ....you can't beat that with a stick. PS That's the labor cost , not the cost of the Gears.

RE: Gear Install HELP PLEASE
Here's a great write-up with pictures. Read it through several times and you'll get a great understanding of what it will take. I plan on doing my 3:73's real soon using this. Once you understand the process it comes down to tools, measuring instruments, patience and serious attention to detail. Fortunately my brother-in-law is a machinest and has the tools needed.
Don't try and do it all in one day, leave a weekend or better yet several days and do it in stages. It's when folks get rushed and start to compromise that will having you "whining" when you're finished.
Good luck, let us know how they come out!

RE: Gear Install HELP PLEASE
I've been told that if you hear a little bit of I quess you would say whining sometimes that it's normal for 4.10 gears. There are certain times I can hear my gears a little, but it's nothing annoying.
