Ok.. I'm looking to get a C&L CAI/SCT2 from Brenspeed. What I would like to know is this: On an otherwise BONE STOCK 06 MT vert, should I get the regular C&L CAI or the C&L racer?

These are what I have chosen at this point, please no long diatribes about something else that's better.. With ONE exception - I'm planning to put a Saleen Series VI on it early next year.. If the C&L won't fit, then what will?

Brenspeed sells the steeda intake with the SC, I have heard of clearance issue's when using an intake such as the C&L, other than that the racer I believe is cheaper but cannot be run w/o a tune while the street version can. I also believe although not positive that the racer intake tube is a larger diameter than the street. Good luck with your decision I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever one you pick.

I plan on getting the SCT with whichever one I pick. And before anyone tells me to get a predator, JDM uses the SCT, so that's the one I'm after, in keeping with my Saleen plans.

So, knowing that I plan to get the tuner, can I run the C&L racer with the Saleen, or should I get the Steeda/SCT due to fitment issues?

Call Brenspeed. They install Saleen SCs and should know what fits and what won't.

Since you are going to need a tuner for your SC down the road, have you considered just buying the SCT tuner now with three tunes from Brenspeed? Adding a CAI makes a marginal difference. The majority of power on a NA motor comes from the tune. Plus, the tune will improve the drive-by-wire response.

I called Brenspeed this morning and spoke with Seth. He said the only CAI that fits the Saleen Series VI is the Steeda, so I have one of those and an SCT on the way with 87, 91 and 93 tunes. Should be here Friday. I can't wait!!!

I have to completely dissagree, and 95% percent of the people on here will also. I will leave it at that and you can do the research on your own.

Good to know - I've got the Steeda + tunes from Brenspeed and plan on a Saleen next year too. Until then, you'll be pleased with the CAI and tune.
