Have you considered getting it tuned? A tune on an automatic GT does wonders.

Why wouldn't you just convert to a nice 4r70?? Wouldn't cost too much and it blows away anothing else. You get to shift and have an auto all in one

You dont need a PCM - it just has to be re-engineered. You can also modify the automatic wiring harness for use with the manual, so no new wiring harness needed.
Anthony05GT has done two of these conversions before they ever even dreamed of that magazine article.
You could do this for under 5000 if you do your own labor I bet.
Considering you dont know whata torque converter is and do not understand stall speed then I am assuming the conversion may beyond your skills.
