sweet man thank you so much, thats what i was worried about. some people just go for volume and if they want to do that, hey its a free country, but i like the deep, muscle car sound a lot better

I have Flowmaster 40s and they sound great at startup and don't get too loud on the interstate at high speeds, usually the radio will drown them out, but sometimes I turn the radio off just to hear them pur and they sound great.

+1, i did hear a car with 40's at a car show this weekend. It did sound nice!

drbobvs- You must have been behind someone who just started up their car and pounded the gas bc I have never had my SLP's pop when driving the car. If its the first startup of the day, you turn the key, then rev the engine, they will pop, but NEVER while driving.
I happen to not like flowmasters, and IMO they are the worst sounding mufflers on S197's....flowmasters simply seem weak to me. I suggest to everyone, goto local car meets and hear different A/B's first and then develop your own opinion. Also, if you are basing your opinion of soundclips on the net, dont... the SLP's sound much better in person. If I had to pick another A/B for an otherwise stock setup, I'd pick Mac.

Even though posting this question will yield hundreds of replies of people's opinions,

mine is that boomtubes sound the best. Afterall, that's why I bought them. Deep, No raspiness, loud, and pretty looking.

i talked to the guys at brenspeed and they say that pretty much, slps are just straight pipes and arent deep sounding. they recommended bassani or mac and said that flowmaster and magnaflow were very quiet, but inherently the bassani and mac have interior drone

alright, i checked out a sound clip of the mac mufflers and it sounds really awesome and i think its the sound i want. any particular advice or warning on them?
