muffler tips coated with soot

muffler tips coated with soot
so i noticed my mufflers have a light/medium coat of black carbon and soot that wipes off with a finger. I just noticed this after doing all my mods in my signature, minus the O/R H pipe. Whats going on?

I have a separate rag handy just for the tips when I wash my Stang. Kinda like using toilet paper instead of your bath towel... [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]

Funny you mention that Moose! Mine have more on it now than with my CAI/tune from the same installer and tuner. Not worried though as the A/F ratio is great and she runs well!

Funny you mention that Moose! Mine have more on it now than with my CAI/tune from the same installer and tuner. Not worried though as the A/F ratio is great and she runs well!
