because that's what I put it in.

First oil change. Put a Purolator filter on it and 6 quarts of Mobil 1.

Pressure was good, didn't see any leaks and the mess is cleaned up.

Today was the first time I've changed my own oil in probably ten years. Twenty years ago I thought it was absurd to pay someone to change it but then I started getting lazy and I let other people do it.

The Mustang is a lot different. I'm more attentive to it and want to make sure everything is right on it.

actually if you look in the owner's manual, they tell you that the full level on the v8's is down in the lower third of the hashmarks, but six quarts brings mine up to about the top...oh well, conflicting information is what the auto industry is all about

I use 6 thats what the capacity is on the 4.6L. That being said I do check it after a change.

My info says 6.3 quarts or 6 liters. I put 6 quarts in and still had to add a little.

um, see my note above re: the hashmarks. Six quarts even is the correct amount, regardless of whether you're at the top of the hashes or not.
