Default RE: any automatic drivers out there?

I'm happy with my auto in fact, it's exactly what I wanted.

As far as arguments about older cars or heritage, most Mustangs have always been automatics for years. In fact, most "old school" V8 muscle cars are automatics. I think the automatic Corvette has been outselling the manual Corvette since the late 60's or early 70's.

As far as racing, most of my driving is done on the street, not a race track. Using an automatic transmission is no different than any other mechanical device on the car. I wouldn't say it's cheating. Automatic drivers, after all, pay a penalty in weight and less rear wheel horsepower in order to never miss a shift.

Remember, the car isn't KITT. I'm still driving it, I'm just not shifting. If I close my eyes and take my hands off the wheel, then I'm sure to run off the road.

Heck, I've always wondered, why Ford doesn't offer the GT-500 in an anutomatic. I'm sure people would buy it! They buy automatic Corvettes and automatic Mustang GT's. I'm sure there is a market out there.

Did you trade the 05 for the 07 just to get an auto?
