hey guys,

i just brougt my car to service at 3500miles i know its a bit late but due to circumstances it couldnt be otherwise anywaysthey replaced the oil and airfilter and also the motor oilhowever they replaced itbut they used thewrong type they used 10w30 of the brand mobil i looked it up in the owners manual and it saysonly to use 5w20will this have severe consequences for the car? what should i do now should i flush the 10w30 out and use the 5w20??? i won't drive the car untilyou guys reply

I would just drive the car back to them asap and have them put the correct oil in it...and a new filter, of course. As long as your not reving high / racing its not going to hurt anything.

hey, so i called the moron up this morning and he just simply told me "what did you want me to do? i didn't have any 5W20, and i doubt you'll be able to find it around here"
so i got pissed, and hung up, i've been calling around for about a half hour to 13 carpart stores and ...they really don't have it, i'll keep looking

but some guys said 10W30 and 5W40 is all they had and that it wouldnt be a problem using them instead...

Its a thicker viscosity oil, so it won't lubricate as well....
