New Mustang GT Owner, Exhaust Help
Just bought my New 06 GT and have been researching an exhaust system but have a couple of questions not really answered. First i'm not wanting to mess with an extended warranty I bought by adding performance parts. I just want a nice deep roar from the exhaust. Should I just use an Axle back borla system or Magnaflow axle back. Also I heard a video showing the difference between Borla axle back vs. O/R H pipe w/Borla stinger. Does the GT come stock with an H pipe already? Please advise

if its in your budget.. go with the borlas... and yeah your car comes with a stock H pipe, but its not an O/R... which means no cats.. which means wayyy louder n deeper..
if you go with the borlas on your stock h pipe it will still sound amazing, just maybe not as deep or loud without the O/R h-pipe.

The Stock GT comes with an H pipe, however you said you were looking at the O/R H pipe, this will be much louder than the stock H pipe because it wont have cats. If you do get an O/R H, you will need to get a tuner because removing the cats will mess with you O2 sensor, causing your trouble code to trip, also making it impossible to pass emssions with out the tune.I believeremoving the cats will void your warranty.Im still trying to figure out what setup to run on my car, but a few suggestions I have is the Pypes O/R H with a Mac axle back, Mac Prochamber with axle back, Just the Mac axle back with the stock H pipe, or the Boomtubes, which I am still looking for a decent sound clip of. Hope this helped a bit.

i came to the same problem and though theyre more expensive than the borlas, i think they sound absolutely sick and you dont need to worry about the drone, so go with the corsas

Pypes mid muffler system, you'll need a lift or 4 jackstands to install, but the sound is unreal, true muscle car sound, as you are moving the cans from the rear of the exhaust to the center.

Installing an o/r midpipe will void your warranty so leave the stock H-Pipe alone...You can still change your axleback exhaust and keep the warranty. I would recommend either corsas or borlas if you are only replacing the axleback.
As far as having to get a tune when getting an offroad midpipe, that is incorrect. You can buy MIL eliminators to fix the check engine light as well which is cheaper. The tune is better though but if it's not in your budget, MIL eliminators will do the trick!
