Which Octane? Octane Boosters? Fuel Injector Cleaners?
I was wondering if there are any real meaningful facts about which octane I should use in my GT?
I am not trying to sound cheap but with gas prices what they are is there a real advantage to using premium fuels with a higher octane?
How high is not beneficial or a point of diminishing returns?
I am wondering about protection and doing what is best for my baby.
Should I use Fuel Injector Cleaners? How often and which ones are best?
Do Octane Boosters really work?
Should I use them?

from your sig it looks like you're running a CAI and tune. Your tune would dictate what octane you need to use. For example, running less that91 octane on a91 tune would absolutely lead to "diminishing returns".
Never used octane boosters and/or fuel injector cleaners, But I only use Sunnoco gas and never buy the discount stuff from minimarkets and the like. I've read other threads on here about those subjects(octane boosters and fuel injector cleaners). Have you tried using the search tool?

I wouldnt use any of that crap octane booster you mentioned...As 300 stated if you dont have a tune which, you have to with CMCVs, your octane rating will be set for that particular custom tune, whatever you chose it to be or your tuner i guess if you dont know...if your tune requires 91 and you want to put in 87 then contact your tuner so he can write a new tune for you.

You bought the Stang for it's performance and you've modded it to a decent $$ amount. Why are you worried about a few $$/week at this point? Save your money elsewhere. Drink water, eat more spaghetti and chicken. LOL!

Yeah, I am not worried about the money. I am worried about doing what is best for the Stang I have with the mod's I have.
Yes, I have a SCT Tuner with the Steeda Tune.

I totally agree with the others regarding using an octane booster. Definitely stay away from it, or you'll be replacing yourspark plugs in short order.
However, WRT fuel injector cleaners I can safely recommend using Seafoam. It's been on the market for decades, and it cured a pinging problem in my engine. Great stuff!!!

I used octane booster in the Grand National that I had. I think the only thing I got out of the octane booster was that the stuff turned the spark plugs red. (indicates too much octane.)
You have a very nice, brand new car. I personally would stay away from fuel injector cleaner for another 90,000 miles.
Mmmmm.....I wonder what kind of tune Steeda put in the car? Makes me wonder if its built for 87 or something higher. Might have to call them or do research on there website. Lets say for the sake of aurgument that its a tune that requires 92 octane. It wont hurt to use a higher octane, but your car wont benefit from it. Certainly, dont use anything less than 92. Hope this helps and let us know what you find out about that tune!

Use the octane for which your engine is tuned. Octane is simply a rating of the combustion rate of the fuel. If you're running fuel of an octane rating your engine was not tuned for, you will not be achieveing the most efficent combustion of fuel and air with the exhaust and intake timing. You won't be causing irreversable damage or anything by doing so, but its still not natural for the engine.
Octane boosters are a big no-no and have been scientifically proven to decrease horsepower. Really just a waste of time.
And keeping the inside of your engine clean is always a good choice.
