Launching Tactics...

RE: Launching Tactics...
3,500rpm is too high for stock tires to hook properly, you will spin too much. Ideally, you should see what works best for you. At the track, you are competing against yourself for improvement. Try out different methods. First try feathering it at around 2,300 - 2,500...then try dumping it...See what your car will hook best with...There is no best way of launching, there are better ways though

RE: Launching Tactics...
I've found the launch to be kind of a quick two step process:
1. engage at 2500-2700ish with a bit of feather (hardly any)
2. then IMMEDIATELY after full engage get that hammer down.
If I use a higher rpm, I spin the tires. I have the stock 17 inch tires, 5-speed, 4.10s.

RE: Launching Tactics...
Only been to the track a couple of times. I usually try to launch around 2300-2500 rpm. With my car, I've come to the conslusion that I get the best launches when I feel like I should be going a little bit faster than what I am. This usually allows for me to not get too much wheel spin.I try to feather the clutch as much as possible, but sometimes it's hard when you get the jitters at the line!!
