IMO boomtubes sound better than LM's. more of a low rumble, less raspy. but search for exhaust guru's exhaust clips and see for yourself. u might wanna check out LM2's but idk if they make them for s197's. i do get dirty looks from cops, but didnt get pulled over yet.cops gotta have a decible meter in order for the charge to stick in court tho.

They are not raspy!

I had them for a while and got nothing but tons of compliments. Zero compliants. Hell, my GF loved the sound!

They are a nice pipe, and look good under the car, they don't just bell out like other pipes giving the illusion of a larger pipe.

I have never heard the boomtubes so I can't compare. They are louder than stock but not as loud as everyone says they are. Trust me the mid pipe is what is keeping it quiet!

I live in VA and have the LM's. No problems from the cops. Hell, Harleys are louder. I love the way they sound and I get all kinds of compliments. The only other axle backI like is the Bassani race mufflers.I have heard the flowmasters and they dont impress me. The flowmasters seem to fall apart.

I think they're the best somding axleback on the market. everybody tells me how good they sound, and no cop problems yet. they aren't too loud in the cabin, but scream on the outside
