Default Used SCT XCAL 2 question...

I have a used XCAL2 coming to me from another mustang owner. He said he loaded the stock tune back on his car and left the B A M A tunes on the XCAL2. I realize the B A M A tunes will not work on my car as we have already verified that we have different PCM codes.

My question is, once XCAL2 arrives, how can I be sure it's unlocked and ready for three new tunes to be loaded? If the previous owner left his stock tune on the XCAL2 by accident, will I be able to tell? I have no experience with this product or any tuner for that matter. I just need to know what to look for once it arrives.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not completely sure, but I think you'll just need to download the sctflash program that hooks up to your computer. You should then be able to erase/delete and clear the tuner as well as unlock it. After that, you should be able to load your own tunes onto it and then bring it down to your car. Once you load the first tune, the tuner should pull you stock tune off and save it for you. Like I said, this might not be exactly accurate, but I'm pretty sure. Maybe someone else can back me up.
