DYNO LETDOWN

DYNO LETDOWN
Well I had my new 373 gear installed yesterday and though I'm happy with the performance of it, I am pissed off with my dyno results.
After having the gear installed I had the performance shop doing the install put it on their Dynojet and boy was I let down...
276 rwhp with 296 rwtq. I have the C&L Racer intake along with sct xcal 2 with a Brenspeed 93 tune.
Yes it's an automatic but I was hoping for more.

Thoselook likerespectable numbers what are you upset about. Just asking but you do realize gears do not add HP right?
Did you bother to take the CAI and tune out and then re run it? That is what you should have done.
Also you need to go easy on those gears for at least 500 miles

RE: Dyno Letdown
I know the gears do nothing but I was hoping the CAI and tune would have given me more, I guess I will have to go with udp's, delete plates and offroad x or h pipe next.
I was thinking of taking the tuner and cai off to have it dyno'd again for a true factory baseline.

Everyone says you will lose some rwhp with the gears, not sure how true that is though. You didn't dyno your car stock did you? If not then you have no idea how much the CAI and tune gave you. You probably had 250rwhp stock.

RE: Dyno Letdown
276rwhp isn't a bad number for only having the C&L racer intake and 93 octane tune. I've also heard that a shorter gear will tend to show a decrease in rwhp on the dyno. With the C&L intake, 93 octane tune, and steeda UDP I put down 287 rwhp and i've heard 8-10 rwhp for the UDP so you're not far off. I probably won't dyno again until I get LTs with a catted H. Then i'll dish out and get a dyno tune. I think I've decided to stop modding after LTs and the spydershaft.

relax..don't get hung up on dyno numbers.what matters is what your assometer tells ya...my auto was 256 stock.with my c&l cai evo tune and kooks lt header and catted x pipe set up I was 300 rwhp and 304 torque...don't wrry bout ur numbers..just get a s/c and then you will be even happier....good luck
