Default stock rims

I put my stock wheels back on today and took off my 22 and 20 inch set up. I pulled out of my driveway to go get some air in them, and without even trying laid a patch about 10 feet long. It feels like a completely different car. I weighed the wheels and the 22's weigh 74 pounds each and the 20's 57 pounds each! As many compliments I get from them it is hard to get rid of them, but they weigh so much that they might be for sale soon, to get an ultralight type wheel.

Go with some steeda wheels then. I dont care for 20's or 22's on a mustang just saying that makes you sound like your from the hood or ghetto and you might as well throw some big ol subs in ur truck and chrome everything out on your car. Sorry as a muscle car fan i dont believe these type of wheels belong on our cars. 18's should be the max. Sorry if i snapped again.

Its ok, I like the big modern rims for show, but like you say it is a muscle car and 18's is the way to go. The 20's and 22's came with the car when I bought it so that is why i have them. I might be looking to sell them for some deep dish bullets sometime.

speaking of the fr500wheels. i love them. but i cant decide on size. what do you guys think of doing a 20by10 deep dishin the back and 18by9 in the front. for some reason i think this set up would be nice. i know i would like the 18s all around but i keepcoming back to the mixed set up.

I saw a newer lightning w/ 20's up front and 22"dd rear, and it looked sick. I am looking for a dd 20 that resembles the stock 18" bullit's. fr500 mixed-do it. who sells that setup w/ matching sizes?

Gotta love the gear ratio!

If you choose to keep those tires, make sure you get a gear swap.

4.10's or 4.30's will leave a 30 ft mark!!!!!!!!!

From your post it sounds like you had those 22/20 wheels on your car with no rear end change. That kind of a wheel size change has a huge effect on your effective rear end ratio. The car probably felt like a pig with those wheels. Lile 22kart22 said..if you are going to run those diameter wheels the overall rolling diameter needs to be taken into account and a rear end swap performed if you are going to try to get any performance out of the car.
fwiw,I also think those wheels on a muscle car look ghetto and sometimes flat our rediculous but obviously to each their own and its your car so enjoy!
