RE: short throw expert opinion
mine is a DD and i love having the short shift! It also allows for funhere and there on the way to work. Now i dont have to be in bumer to bumper traffic very much at all, but there is no way i would every go back to the stock setup

RE: short throw expert opinion
I am not an expert, but I had the Tri-ax installed 5 months ago. Very secure, spring assisted to third - never ever miss. Notchy is a good way to describe. Much shorter travel/throw. No increase in noise. The shop that installed it made sure to adjust the stops and took care to reinstall with the idea of keeping it quiet.
Back in June when I was deliberating on Steeda Sport vs Tri-ax, I asked Marcelo at SilverHorse for his opinion. He recommended the sport. He said something like, 'unless you really work your machine hard the Tri-Ax is overkill.'
So of course I bought the Tri-ax!

RE: short throw expert opinion
I have the Steeda Tri ax for a year now. shifts great. If the MGW was out at the time I would have gotten that one thow- due to past experience with MGW, but I have no complaints with my tri ax and i use it as a daily driver.

I think the short shifter is a good option even for a daily driver. I thought the stock shifter was too ambiguous. The Hurst shifter I put in is a lot more sure-footed. Like people are saying, it's a matter of personal preference.
