i'm sure if they do they will use the 4v 5.4 that's in the GT500 w/o the supercharger... but i'd like to save a little weight and go alluminum

The new Mustang GT is not getting a 5.4 or any other 4v motor.

I would just be happy with an all-aluminum5.0 liter 3 valve making 350+bhp. Of course, an all-aluminum5.0 liter 4 valve would be better making around 400bhp.

the parnelli jones 302 makes 400 hp and 390 lbs of torque. all forged internals. that would be perfect

I can't see ford doing a 6.0+ liter. None of the other cars in either the U.S. market or foreign markets have one. The trend has been to work within the confins of your existing parts bin changing pieces and parts here and there to getwhere you want to go. Unless they plan on adding a 6.0+ to their truck line-up or some other cars as well, the 5.4 would be the engine of choice to tinker with.

the 3.5L in the new Lincoln MKZ and slated for the base mustang in 09 is an example of this along with the 4.0L in the current generation that is also used in their compact truck line.

GM uses their 6.0L in the vette, the upcoming Camaro, and their Caddy line.

Honestly, why is it so hard to believe that the new mustang would have the 5.4 4v....its not that far fetched...
You realize the mustang will have the camaro and chargerto compete with thise next model run.
