i love my mustang and it competes well, completely satisfied with the 3v 4.6... just pondering the idea....hypothetically speaking, ford puts an all aluminum 5.4 pushrodin the new mustang....., what kind of power are we talking here, 350 plus?? yea i'd like a six speed but ford did a great job with these five speed gears, it really pulls out of the hole... just wondering what other people would think if ford pulls one of these? just think, a cam and some longtubes..... oh man

how about 400 plus. on a stock pushrod 5.4. but it would have to be a completely new block and redesigned ****. honestly, ford is selling way too many stangs as it is to wanna invest millions in a project like that now.[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

yea that is true... maybe that's why the GTO went bye bye... does you no good to shove bigass engines in an ugly *** car... hahahaha, poor pontiac.... but with the profit they're making on these new GT's i'd rather them not redesign in 09 or whatever, just redesign the engine...say a pushrod 5.4 lol

400 hp with a NA 5.4l 4V would be awesome for base GT engines.

Ford is still working on an answer to the HEMI engines. Something in the 6+ liter range making 420+- HP. I wouldn't be surprised to see this in some type of Mustang in 2010 or so.

That aside, the 5.4 would be great. I would be happy keeping the 4.6 and just having them put in forged pistons, rods and crank.

hahahaha, honda accord....but yea a 4v would be nice too... but i myself am partial to the pushrod. simon i think i know what you're talking about about the 6.+, isn't called the hurricane engine or something?? but +1 on forged internals on the 4.6, but if they make the engine boost ready, they would have to make the rest of the car boost ready, right?

The problem is that Ford doesn't make just Mustangs and the other stuff isn't selling that well. Ford isn't doing that well finacially so at this point I think all we can do is wish.
Point and case, look at the "New" Bullet. What a let down.

I think the weak links after that are the tranny, clutch and rear end. Anyway you cut it, you could pretty much blow all three of those up and still not spend what you would on an installed rotating assembly. 2000 -2500 for the assembly and anywhere from 2500-3500 for labor.

Our trannies are pretty good, the rear ends old up pretty darn well too, clutches, well, the last as long as you let them.
