2007 GT modifications
Hello....This is my first post...I just joined the forum/group.
I just bought a New 2007 Ford Mustang GT. It came with Classic design Foose Hood and Shaker assembly.
roush exhausts, roush short throw shifter, classic front chin spoiler, Shelby Billet Hood pins, Roush Oil Cap, Roush Radiator Cap, Roush Strut Tower Caps, Roush Door sill Plates, Roush Floor Mats
I am thinking about doing the following mods:
gears are 331...thinking of 373 or 410?
Ford Racing handling upgrade kit-not sure if strut tower bace will fit with shaker cover though?
Ford Racing Cold air kit with Tuner
Roush Underdrive Pulley's
Wondering if these are good places to start and what type of HP and improvements I will see?
Thanks,
Steve

RE: 2007 GT modifications
do the 4:10's.
the the pullys.
dont do the frpp intake and tuner combo. you get more bang for your buck with steeda or C&L. and get the sct-2 tuner. its worlds better (or at least more power).
do the intake/tuner first. the tuner is the "gateway" to further mods. like you will need it to calibrate for the 4:10's, bigger wheels and tires, x or h pipe, and maany more things. the computers on these cars are touchy, so to benefit from mods you need a tuner.

RE: 2007 GT modifications
A larger throttle body (twin 62 mm offered by BBK and Granatelli) will help as much as the cold air intake. There have been articles in 5.0 magazine and others on this.
Your difference in mileage/RPM should be simply based on the percentage difference between 3.31 and your choice of new ratio. With a lot of highway miles, it's a tough call between the 4.10 and 3.83. A guy at Dallas Mustang said he would go with 4.10 or higher on an automatic tranny.

Dont do the throttle body all of the ones out right now are garbage and you wont need one anyway until you go either F/I or p/p heads with cams. Do get the intake and tuner first and go from there. Ive got the 3.73s and definately wish I had gone 4.10s. Didnt notice a big drop in gas mileage but I also went from 3.55s.

suspension wise, look into getting a package that has Tokico D-Spec shocks in it. check stangsuspension.com, or one of the sponsors. You need a package. For just a basic drop, you need to get a ****load of parts to properly drop and align.
-springs
-adjustable panhard bar
-shocks (might as well change them while you're under it)
-steeda heavy duty strut plates (stock ones "pop" over bumps and cannot help with alignment)
i'm probably missing some thigns but thats basically for jsut dropping. i've spent almost $2k on suspension parts, all just to properly lower the car and have it ride and handle great. Still pending install and shipment of some parts, lol.
