Saleen SC Vacuum Upgrade Kit?
Has anyone bought or made one of these them selves? http://www.teamjdm.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=222
I was wondering if it really made any difference, if it only works at WOT then I don't think you really need it.
Thoughts????

RE: Saleen SC Vacuum Upgrade Kit?
your vacuum lines should look like this....if

modification

The pic shows how the vac lines should be hooked up. This is how I have mine set up. I modified hammeron's pic with some notes. You can probably make your own, maybe getting the hoses and T-connectors for Home Depot for cheaper.

RE: Saleen SC Vacuum Upgrade Kit?
Thanks everyone......I'll throw one together this week and give it a try. Hopefully the snow holds off so I can actually drive it before putting the Stang to rest for the winter.

I'minterested to know why it's better. Saleen still hooks it up to the break booster line from the factory. I would have thought by now they would have caught on to it and started doing it this way from factory. I have it the way the picture shows too, I am just curious why.

its also a safety precaution. i generally dont like tapping the brake booster for vacuum/boost source b/c if somehow it were to leak, it is NOT fun trying to brake with out the brake booster!
The rerouting of the lines is definitely a good idea.

A lot of manufacturers knowingly do the wrong things to save face. I know plenty of companies that ignore "new' developments or improvements made by end users or resellers. Not sure what Saleens reason for doing so is. Much like the powerflash, it sucks compared to XCal2 tune, but they still do it anyway.
Why does it work better? from my own applications in the past, tapping the brake booster "works" and is the easiest to get to. But when you're wastegate, bypass valve, or whatever controls your boost level, it is dire to send it the most accurate vacuum/pressure source and not to split it with any major component that requires vacuum/pressure. In this case, its the brake booster. As the JDM site explains, the boost readings will not be absolutely accurate, therefore it will dump or take out an inaccurate amount of fuel per volume of air.
