News to me! I was just going to suggest getting a washer for the cap and it would be fine but a new MC is fine too.......as long as it is under warranty I say fishy or not you will know if they did anything. I would mark the MC with a permanent marker and see if it is returned that way and if it is .....notify Ford corporate and let them know they are scamming through warranty scams!

I didn't have any problems with that but I think their is a TSB on that. A while ago lots of people were having that problem and the brake fluid was eating the paint right off. -Joe

Glad to see you got it back and it looks new so hopefully no more leaks! If there is any paint damage the dealer will warranty the repaint for the engine bay part that was affected.

Just had mine replaced, along with the throw bearing, clutch resevior, and the stock shifter reinstalled all under warranty. But that is what the master cylinder was doing was leaking a little right at the lid.

I always assumed the stealerships made money replacing parts under warranty and would rather replace a complet component in lieu of a sub-component. But as long as it's under warranty, I wouldn't sweat it. Chalk it up to "infant mortality" and hope that other components aren't going to suffer the same fate.
