What brand clywheel/clutch did you get? I'm gonna be in this boat soon.. Well, soon as the Saleen group buy goes through.. :-)
I am having a brain fart right now and cant think of the brand of flywheel which is embarrasing. The clutch is McCleod which is top of the line...very, very good clutch. The owner of Hardcore Mustangs has used Spec, Centerforce and all that crap on his 550rwhp stang and he said McCleod is by far the best he has used. Ill get back to you on the flywheel

What are the indications that you need a clutch? Ive run the snot out of my car and as far as I know its still fine except from some popping sounds.

The easiest way for me to tell is you will feel it physically slipping like leaving in 1st from a stop

Mine slips pretty bad pulling out in first sometimes. But the rest of the time its fine. Just initially catching it slips like 3 or 4 and then catches. Once it catches though, its all good. Like I said though, its just sometimes (10%-15%).

Per Ford Service Manual

1. Parking Brake On
2. Engine On
3. Place in 4th Gear
4. Rev To 3000 rpm
5. Slowly Release Clutch

If it stalls your good.

If it keeps running, new cluch time!

Well, I actually don't have to have one at this particular time, but..In 5th gear on the freeway under high boost the clutch just can't hold it. It spins, RPMs go up and the car goes no where.

Not to mention it's winter time and I would like to have my car race ready for the spring and I don't want to be interupted. And I have the money.

I did probably 25 runs on the clutch with simple bolt on's.

25 runs, spraying from the line. Then figure out all the other BS and it adds up to alot.

5 runs witht he turbo. And a slipping clutch with the DR's on. It didn't slip the entie time but I could feel it catch and release.

I think for us with FI, it might cook our clutch.

I think I need a new clutch too, Because mine starts slipping around 120 to 140+. It is still the factory clutch. I was thinking of buying the Spec stage 2 with aluminum flywheel. Does anyone have the Spec stage 2 and aluminum flywheel on thier stang? how does it feel?
