A question for Saleen Servies VI DIY'ers

RE: A question for Saleen Servies VI DIY'ers
I brought my Saleen SC from another Company and the Tune from Brenspeed. No problems at all. Brent and Seth were more than happy to answer all my questions and the tune runs sweet. I brought all my parts from different suppliers as they when on sale. Saleen SC for 4500, 39lb match injectors $300, 3.6 pulley $69, Steeda CAI 200, and Brenspeed tune 180.
I downloaded the instructions from Saleen and actually torn down my car before the SC was deliver. You do need the Hose Clamp pliers.
The only problem I had was the Alt. removeal tool was missing and I had to make my own tool to remove it.
I went to Brenspeed Dyno days to get a baseline pull 430rwhp and 413 torque with a canned Brenspeed tune.

Everyone keeps mentioning hose clamp pliers.. You mean like the same kind of hose clamp to get the factory intake tube off?? I just wrestled that with screwdrivers and pliers.. I'll continue to do that, for how often I'll actually use hose clamp pliers in the future. LOL
As the the alternator, why do you need to take the pulley off? Do they give you a new one or something? I could always just run up to the parts store and have it swapped.. Or the dealer..

To the OP...Brenspeed could care less where you buy the blower from. All they care about is the fact that you are still giving them business by purchasing a product from their company. They have great guys working there and will be more than happy to assist you with whatever it may be regardless of what you bought elsewhere...

People who have done fuel system upgrades how hard is it and what are the hardest parts? That is where most of my worries come in as I don't think the BFH my favorite tool will be able to help me out in that area. I have no plans on sticking to the 9lbs of boost in the future and want to upgrade the fuel system when I do the s/c. exx im near detroit.

Yes, they give you a new one. You have to change it, because your alternator is going to spin the other direction once it's turned around and your stock pulley won't allow it to spin that way.

Here is a picture of the Hose clamp pliers.

You ask how we DIY the SC, using those pliers will cut your install time by a hour of more.
The Alt. Pulley is on a bearing that will spin with the Alt one way then spin the other it will spin but it won't spin the Alt. for power. It is a 31 spine internal tool that only Saleen has (Althought I hear that VW's use the same). Your local garage or Ford Dealer will not be able to remove it. I was missing my tool so after a 2 day seach, I used a 1/2" deep well socket that fit into the pulley and tack welded it on. Worked like a charm.

Ok, cool. $16 I can handle. That's not bad.
The dealer wouldn't have it? I find that very hard to believe... But either way.. Tack welded a socket in? I don't have a welder.. Hopefully Saleen doesn't forget my tool. Did everyone else get the tool in their kit, or was this not just a fluke that it wasn't included for dly?
Thanks!!

I got the tool, but again, you don't need to change the pulley. The stock tensioner has enough play in it that you can skip that step.
