OBX Headers & Pypes mid muffler system
Just installed my OBX headers today, prior had factory H & cats, Pypes mid-muffler system.
The quality of the headers is excellent. 1 5/8" primaries, 2 1/2" collectors.Comes with 2 H-pipes, 1 straight & 1 with mini resonators.
I used the one with the resonators. Got my tune modified by Brenspeed.Rear O2 sensors turned off, used bought O2 extenders for the fronts,as thay are in the collectors. These are equal length, full length long tubes. Mine hangs about 1/2" below the frame rails @ the lowest point, not enough to worry about.
Fit was average, I had to do about 2 minor tweaks for everything to all slip together. Not bad, IMO. For what you get, @ 450.00 these are a bargin. 304 stainless, flanges are in excess of 3/8".
Tips; buy header bolts, if you buy O2 extenders, you'll have to trim off the alignment tabs on the outer shell of the extender sockets & plug in the extenders before installing headers.
It's loud IMO, quite a bit up from my previous setup, inside & outside. Nice power increase, it was easily noticable. No before & after dynos.

RE: OBX Headers & Pypes mid muffler system
Thank you for the post, I was really looking at these and was kinda waiting till someone else got them first to see what was what with the OBX set up. If you could can you go into more detail with the install as in jackign the engine yadda yadda yadda. As I may get these in the spring, I'm not sold that these High Dollar Headers will do anything more for me that the OBX wont.
Thanks
Thanks
