I have a K&N and it supposedly gives a 05+ GT 15.26 hp without a tune. I believe it! I could definatly tell the difference in acceleration.
Actually most of it was from the "tune". IE the K&N leaned out the AFR.
It was just that the"tune" was supplied by mechanics (larger MAF tube) rather than electronics.
We used to do the same thing on 5.0's by lowering the fuel pressure 3 psi on stock cars.

If I could do it over again I would have went with a C&L Racer instead of the Street.

So wait are you saying it doesn't make 15 hp? Or are you saying it's running lean?

No and yes

It probably doesn't make 15 RWHP and it is probably running lean. If it doesn't require a tune it really isn't letting enough to make a difference, just like a drop in but bigger.

Yes but i've seen the dynos on their site. My buddy's 06 gt was making 278 to the wheels with the same intake and some ford racing axle backs.

278 to the wheels with a k&n, frpp abs, thats a rich car then. Don't belive K&n, I see those little banner ads all the time saying the gt500 adding 53hp with just a K&N, you need a tune for most of the gain. Theres a reason not many people run K&N intakes on mustangs.

So what exactly are the consequences of running lean? Bad plugs i presume? Also, if i were to get a tune, would it remedy the problem?
