Supercharger PCV Catch can (Whipple if it matters)

RE: Supercharger PCV Catch can (Whipple if it matters)
Oh and moose how much oil accumulates in your catch can now? How often do you empty it? Just curious it is really a problem. From the things I have read some people get it more than others. Also it appears the more boost you run the worse it is which makes sense. The other thing that people do is to just vent the valve cover and lose the PCV system entirely. It is really there for emissions but I think the catch can is easier and how the engine was designed to work so I plan to stick with that route.

you got me thinking here.....dangerous i know
i want to mount my catch can, so i can drian
it from under the car.....if i slide under the
engine area, i want to be able to simply drain
it into a cup........hmmm

I think I would mount it similar to this but a little cleaner looking.
Draining it wont be a huge problem I wouldnt think but without the parts in my hand I couldnt tell you the best way.
Hammeron I can send you all the part numbers and things I have found so far if you want to try it first and create the how to. I wont mind if you steal my thunder .
let me know
EDIT: Hmmmm pic wont post since its from another forum so how about this.

yeah, that's alright i suppose but i
would like to do better if possible...
most of the catch can installs i've seen,
look like poo....
i might get under the car tonight, to see
where one can be mounted......it would
be drained during oil changes, when i'm down
there anyways...

The can I have is just empty in side, so i'm relying on the oil dropping to the bottom. The stefs can has some actual stainless mesh or something to catch the oil.

oh that could be it.....the vaporized oil may
simply be flying right through there....
maybe we really need to run the air
through a filter, to catch the particles
on a side note: i may mount my catch can
to the drivers side frame rail. it looks like there's
plenty of room and it will keep the bay looking
clean

people check out eliteengeneering.com you must use a filter or you will still get oil mist/vapors into your manifold or p/s supercharger...The best way is still just use breathers on the valve covers and plug off your intake manifold... but if you want to keep it a closed system a catch can system is the way to go. also remember anything over 14-15 lb of boost you need to have the system vented or you are going to blow main seals, oil pan gaskets and other various types of seals.

hey sd07gt, i thought about this.....do
you think at 10psi, this is the way to go?
by breathers, do you mean those little
air filters
