Anyone know how the ford racingheaders stack up against the JBA shorty headers?

not sure of how they compare to each other, but any shorty will get you maybe 5-10 hp if any, most people will suggest LT's and i suggest the same. if you are going to spend the time and money changing to headers u might as wellget LT's.

Well, i live in california and have to keep the cats. Is there a solution to use LT's without compromising my smog test?

JBA Shorties here, I also wanted to keep the Cat's (emissions inspections), I added FRPP X-Pipe, and JBA SS Axle Backs Good results with this set-up.

at breenspeedthey offer pypes LT headers w/catted x pipe.. dunno if it will pass emissions there or not.. woohoo i've got to love montana for something..(no emmissions tests)

There are only 2 shorty header companies that are CARB certified that can be used in CA, JBA and Edelbrocks.
