I went and test drove an automatic and a manual today. I've got to say that I was wildly impressed by both. The 5 speed was so smooth and the clutch was perfectly intuitive. The shifts were short and even. The automatic was probably the most peppy automatic I've ever driven. The shifts were firm and quick. From 1st to 2nd it didn't even lag, it just thrusted forward into the next gear.

The handling is superb also. I couldn't intentionally get the rear wheels to skip by jumping off the line nor by accelerating out of a tight corner. That car just sticks to the road and goes!

I'll probably end up going with the automatic so my wife can drive it also.
