I'm thinking of putting 4.10 gears in my 06 5 speed. With my larger rear tires this puts me at 3.90 from what I have read.
Some say that gearing can help with the drone that my Borlas are known to have at the 2k rmp range. Has anyone here ran this set up?

If you are adjusting your 4.10 ratio to 3.90 to compensate for the larger diameter tires, then you will be OK. At 65mph you will be turning about 2100 rpms - above the dreaded drone range.

Mine drone between 1500 and 2000 RPM which can be a pain around 60 MPH in 5th gear with my 3.55's. Dropping her into 4th to eliminate the dronebothers me so I've learned to deal with it. Matter of fact, I rather enjoy the drone now. I feel she's reminding me that she likes to wind up instead of hanging around 2k...

I wasn't thinking of gears just for the drone, I was only hoping it would cut down on how often I drove in the drone range. I'm on the fence about doing the gears, this could be enough to get me over it

I also had the drone, my fix - I replaced the stock exhaust manifold with a set of JBA shortie headers. The improved scavanging of the equal length tubes and the collector, "ironed" out the drone.
