Default Is it safe? need help please

Afriendtold me that it's not recommended to use drag radials or Slicks in the back along with the stock front wheels & tires, he says it'll make the car unstable at high speed at the drag strip. I'm asking 'cause I wannausesome rear 15" wheels with slicks for the track only. Anyone?

done all the time.... as long as your tire height is near 27" there should be no issues.. IMO

He must be referring to how you can alter the handling characteristics towards understeer if you go big on the rears - but you're going to be going in a straight line, so you should be ok.. and in reality, it only really becomes a factor when you get into hard corner carving, which most don't do on a daily basis. In other words, it may not be the best setup for autocrossing, but for drag it's ok..

Actually what he said is somewhat accurate. The combination of a bias-ply rear tire and a radial in the front can cause the car to feel unstable at high sppeeds. Also tyhe fact that we run the DOT slicks with very little air makes them somewhat shaky on the top end.
