cover both your ears with you hands and hum that is what drone sounds like, now do it for 45 minutes a day and you will see why I switched from Pypes to FRPP GTAs zero drone.

I personally like drone at times...it just gives me more incentive to hammer the throttle

trumpety doesnt sound anything like drone to me......drone is like a humming sound more or less IMO
+1 You really need to experience drone, clips online don't do it justice. When you are slowly accelerating and the exhaust tone suddenly gets higher at a specific rpm, but returns to normal right afterwards, that is drone.

off topic: What is the "Boomtube crew"? Is that a special club where you guys get together and talk about how great your mufflers are? Are there SLP crews, Corsa crewsand Borla crews too or is this phenomenon unique to these mufflers?

yes, we are special......yes that's all we do is talk about our mufflers.......and no, none of these other mufflers are cool enough to have their own club

Thats a perfect explanation of how it would sound. IMO drone doesn't bother me at all....which is good b/c the Macs drone alot.

drone = pure bass resonating inside of the cabin.

plug your ears with your fingers and hum real deep with your mouth closed.

edit.. go sit inside of a giant subwoofer for a feel of the Mac Axleback[8D]

they do sound really good and i don't mind drone that much..

my complaint with them is that they don't sound throaty enough after 3K RPM... they have ***** down low, but sound 'airy' after that.

i'm trying stingers and a catted x next. i've had like 6 setups so far. [&:]

Past 3000 they get a bit screamy....kinda like theres an X pipe involved. I think they combine the best of both worlds...deep and bassy as well as screamy and angryMaybe down the road I will get the Mac LT's and O/R Prochamber as well.
