Default Headrs question

I ordered a pair of JBA Longtubes witha 2.5" collector yesterday and a JBA off-road H-pipe. Someone told me that this was a horrible first mod becasue more exhaust would be flowing out and I wouldn't be taking in enough air through my intake and that my car would run like crap until I bought an intake (which is my next mod) I was just wondering is this true?? I don't think it is, but I've been wrong before

I'm not a rocket scientist, but I do not believe you can exhaust more air than you intake.

I do not have the JBA LTs (see signature)but have had no problems with my exhaust and no CAI or tune. The only minor issue I had, was an engine lope with A/C on after I installed the headers - this cleared itself after a coupleof days driving. I imagine if you have any issue, it maybe a code due to the relocation of the rear O2 sensor when using the LTs.

Very likely will throw a code - a tune can turn off the sensors and correct that for you.

The headers are not a horrible first mod - you just won't get the full affects of them until you are letting more air in.

He is mostly correct actually.....First mods should be CAI/tune......this increases the airflow....the headers will work with no other mods, but i agree if might not run that good and the gains would be veru minimal without any tuning done.

I suggest doing some more reading around here for CAI/Tune and any other mod....you are going backwards from the normal route taken.
