Well I dont know about lower profiles but I have been interested in seeing a 265/55/17 and a 275/50/17.
Both of these tires are rated for rims 7.5"-9" and have over 10" of tread on the ground. They are truck tire sizes and have heard of some truck guys running them on 8" rims but cant find any pictures.
I might just get the 255/50/17's in the softest compound I can find.

i'm trying to decide if i want to just go w/ a bigger tire on my stock wheels or go ahead and go w/18" chrome torque thrusts and bigger tires. can't decide though b/c there's hardly no difference in the 17 and 18 except more expensive. any thoughts?

So whats the consensus on the biggest tires for the stock 17x8 bullitts? I'm hearing different things from different sites and what not and was wondering if the 255's were the biggest/still safe size for them...thanks...BTW (not to steal the thread) but all this rim talk has me wondering...why did Ford decide to make the stock bullitts silver in '07?I have always been curious as to why they did that....the grey looks way better IMO.

For a DD 255 is the widest that is recommended by the tire manufacture for the most part.....only for track use would i got 275 on the stock rims.....you can try it for a DD but to me you are risking failure since the tire is not made for that overlap.
