paxton vs whipple/saleen sc kits
i know the paxton builds boost gradually and makes power as the rpm peaks but the saleens and whipple makes power instantly when applied throttle.Though from the advertised claims, the paxton puts more power out at the same number of psi as the other kits, eventhough the other kits are pretty modest in their claims compared to it.
paxtons being a whopping 480-490whp @9 psi on a stock GT and the others being about 420-430whp @9psi i think.
between the two cars racing, would the difference in spool or power delivery matter or is it the one with the most hp being the faster car regardless of spool?
should the instant boost being able to get on it a little quicker make up for it having less overall power vs a broader power band with good peaks of the paxton?
kinda like instant torque vs overall power?not talking about the max potential of either one,but just as in the sanario with cars equally moded with the basics and say,a car with the paxton, one with the whipple and a saleen.which would have the advantage as is??
I think the saleen/whipples might have the low end mid range but the paxton may edge it out up top by like a car or so.Making it feel like it's actually boosted vs feeling like it's NA of sorts (??)
trying to get an actual 'feeling' of how either kits drive..without actually driving them lol.

thinking about how people described them, with a 5 speed.I think the whipple would be something
REALLY fun to drive with all that instant torque off the line...though sounds like it has a real one track purpose lol.I imagine the paxton kit feeling like a high hp car but gradual pick up like a car with long gearing or high hp na...faster then it is quick (??)

I think all SCs are great. The power curve is just different from the centris and TS. Dont forget TS still make power at high rpm. It makes power throughout the whole rpm range. Low end and top.

Pick your poison. They all go really fast and I havent heard anything really bad about any of them. The biggest difference will be pricing. Whipple and Saleen being the most expensive and Paxton and Vortech being on the less expensive side. I would figure about $1,000 more for the TS, not sure why.
I have the Paxton 2200 HO and love it, its a real monster.

i'm leaning towards the paxton kit from brenspeed. i think any SC will be great fun, and they each have their advantages. i'm thinking of going w/ the paxton bc 1. its a little cheaper and 2. most people who have SC's where i live have whipples and I want to get something different.

you can find Paxton 2200 kits for 4,400 and 3,400 for tuner kits, and dont forget all the new Paxton kits the SL's dont use oil feed and drain lines anymore !!
I have the 2200 on my 07gt, Whipple or K/B cars get the jump on me by one or two cars lengths but up at top I get them by two car lenghts... It just a trade off !
