thief of hearts, i think you have it backwards...When you have a manual tranny, selecting just what gear you have makes a huge difference in terms of how much you connect with the car and the fun you have. Driving a stick go kart, to me, is a lot more fun than driving an automatic kia...
ditto..but I was talking about him having a v6 auto vs GT auto and the difference in torque
of the two cars..with the GT having more torque ,it would still be fun with the auto being that
it has more torque then the v6 to begin with.

I have been thinking of getting the 5 speed myself and gears/tune in the near future but who
knows? with so much positive feedback of moded autos I might still have to consider it...

I agree manual all the way. Autos just dont give you that holy S**t feel.

BTW. I got my brand new 07 premium package GT with the IUP for a mere 25K and got exactly what I wanted. Just hold out save that additional 3K and go beat up a salesman till he gives you the price you want to pay. Also go to several dealerships then to a large volume dealer. You have a better chance of getting the best deal possible at a large volume since they make money based on quantity not necessarily on price.

I don't know..with enough power and the right mods I am pretty sure a GT auto with 500whp/trq.
would give me a holy shiet feel lol.

Oh boy another one of these threads, do you plan to race - get the AUTO, do you just want to tool around town (doing burnouts and revving excessively!! lol) and get in the occasional street race (not recommended) get the manual, it is fun to shift but when I go to the track the number of people who can't shift is amazing !!! As i have said before if you plan not to mod or only slightly mod you would be better with a manual, if you plan on heavily modifying I think you are better off with the AUTO.

Just my opinion

Doesn't do anything for me.Auto would have beat him all things being the same. What was that cloud of smoke as he finished? Couldn't have been left over from the burnout. Sucka shut it down hot too. *** clown.

I agree, but my point was even racing with manuals makes you feel better especially if you beat someone at the track. let alone daily driving.
