Default New Car and mods?

Howdy, Im new to the forum and i have a question. I just got a new 08 mustang gt 5 speed manual about 2 weeks ago and i want to start adding some performance mods to it but i was wondering if there is a specific number of miles i should wait? Would it harm anything if the car is not broken in? Thanks

No it wont harm anything I would wait til at least 500 miles before I really floored it but other than that it should be fine.

Now who really waits until 500 miles not to floor it . I know when I first got the car I said to myself alright just once to test it out... did that countless times and haven't had any problems with the car. I would say go for it but don't be overrevving the car or anything to crazy.

actually, a ford servicetec told me that engines are pre-run&tested on the factory before they even put in the car.

also, do you want to keep you warranty? DIY performance mods = no warranty[sm=headbang.gif][sm=proof.gif]

ditto..have fun while you got it.
I am even thinking of getting a supercharger kit a few months after getting mine (soon)
I figure, cars like the GT500 and Saleen models come from the factory sc'd anyways..
just don't drive like a maniac and keep things under wraps for a few hundred miles..
then give it hell! lol.

have fun and enjoy the ride!!!
