sorry to hi-jack the thread but what do you guys think of 10w-30 synthetic. its what i have been running
Your fine cause you are runing a blower.
running a blower does not change any of the bearing clearances or anything specific to the internals. in no way does that warranty running a high viscosity oil. no need to run 10w-30. thicker for cold startup, and thicker than 20 after its warmed. run 5w-20, at most, 5w-30.

good to hear you fixed that problem, did they charge you to change the oil again?

Under forced induction almost everybody runs a thicker oil or at least a higher temp rating. Under higher pressure and extreme temps, that's just the way it is. Maybe 5W30 is all that's recommended so that there is a little extra when it's hot? But it's kind of like running 1 step colder plugs. Doesn't say in the manual that you should run colder plugs in the car if you supercharge or turbocharge the car either.
