My stock clutch chatters off idle so I have nowhere to go but up.

$300 bucks at the dealer. I did not even want to mess with it without a lift!
That's all a Ford dealer charged you? If that's the case I might let Ford take care of it.

Ford charged me $1200 for clutch and clutch parts and the labor... If they want to charge $300 to install a clutch I bring in, for a total of what, maybe $650, I'd do it.

Quick update (I'm at work):

Clutch chatter is 75% gone. Only 70 miles on the car since installation. Things are looking good.

The spec II is rated for 600 HP and 540 FT. LBS. I don't plan on exceeding that anytime soon. Plus, the higher level performance clutch you buy, the less streetable it becomes. I'm already working through the clutch chatter with this setup (SPEC and brenspeed both tell me that the chatter is normal for a kevlar clutch, and that it will lessen with break-in). I'd hate to see what it's like with a level III.

My friend has a 3 in his Turbo'd V6 and it feels like stock. I want it firmer, and don't know what the heck to go with.

When you were removing the top two bolts on the tranny, what angle did you go from? Did you try and go all the way over the top, or was it more from the side?
