WTF??
Hello everyone, I am n00b here, as I recently (actually in Oct 07) bought a 2008 GT, and have already done 5300 miles on it. This is my second Mustang, and I love this car. Anyway, I was on my way to Baltimore and it was around 2 in the morning, so I thought it might be a good idea to try the motor...and within seconds I was doing 95-98 and within minutes, I saw the fast approaching headlights in my rear view mirror and before I Knew this thing flew pass me...as there was no one on the highway, i thought I will try to catch this *****.. and to my surprise my car gave up at 110, but couldn't get hold of that car...I kept on trying but nothing happened.
The car was none other than the Audi A6, I thought these heavy **** cars are slow..anyway, I happened to catch the guy at the gas station and said hello (turns out he wasn't a ***** and was actually nice) so I asked if he has any mods or chipped his engine... he said it was stock. I was speechles...how come his 2.7 ltr V6 is faster than my 4.6 V8??
I am quiet dissapointed.
Do we have a speed limiter that limits the vehicle spped at 110?

RE: WTF??
I know these things will go at least 135. And that is in the heavier convertible, with the top down no less. I dont know what would have stopped you at 110. Is it a manual or automatic? My manual was still pulling at 130 in 4th but i gave it up and slowed back down. I dont know what it could have been in your case though.

RE: WTF??
Thanks for the reply. I thought that weight could be the issue, and I checked that. He was driving 2004 A6 2.7T S-line, and I checked his car's curb weight here http://www.edmunds.com/used/2004/aud...198/specs.html
and it is 3958 Lbs. Whereas, my GT's curb weight is 3450 LBs.
How can that small motor and 2 cyl less can pull addition 500 LBs. of body weight and still beat my brand new car. I am upset...can't figure out.
His Audi is 265 hp, and mine is 300 hp. Can you guys do the math and tell me where I am wrong??
Btw, I drive manual.

Did you shift into 5th?
Did you shift into 5th?
Yes. Just lollygagging around on the Interstate at 70 mph, it is only turning 2000 rpms with my gearing. Did it at night on our little unlit airport runway. No landing lights so it is closed at dusk. At night doing that speed, it looks like tunnel vision because of the lights and it feels like you are warping out on the star ship Enterprise. Freaky.

No cops. It's about 3 miles outside of town.
