V8 MPG versus V6?
I have been considering trading in my 2005 V6 for a Gt 2005+ model. Right now I drive an automatic V6 vert and get around 25-27 on highway and 17 in city, if I were to get a GT (manual, possibly vert) how much lower would my MPG be? Reason I ask is because I do drive alot for work and after I sell my 93 honda accord in the Spring my Mustang will be my only car.
WIll getting a vert lower my mileage drastically?

I average 25-27 mpg on the highway with my 2007 GT. Best was a 30 mpg average on a 400 mile trip. Cruise set at 75 with a flat highway and a tailwind, no stops. Got 29 on one other 200 mile trip. 3.55 gears and the manual tranny.

with a gt youll get around 15 city mpg and with gas prices these days it sucks.

Speak for yourself. Who died and made you an expert? I get 27-31 on the highway and 21 around town. It's all in the driving style. From what I have observed, the GT gets better MPG if you keep your foot out of it.I have 3.31 gear BTW.

Half of my drive (to work) is HWY and the other half is CTY for a total of 50 miles. I get 22 MPG. The last time I filled up though (I think it was last Friday) I got 22.5 which is the highest I've ever seen it. I havn't done any long distance pure HWY driving yet where I'm sure I'd see higher. The lowest I had was about 17 when I first got the car, but that's b/c it was all new and not broken in yet, it got better with time.

I had a loaner v6 for 2 weeks and the gas mileage was only slightly better. I think it's 100% worth the 1-2mpg drop for the power.
